Day care centers are licensed by the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood (OEC) and are inspected upon request per OEC requirements every two years thereafter to ensure compliance with the Connecticut Public Health Code, Section 19a-79-1a through 13. Inspections focus on safety, cleanliness, equipment, and proper food service. Complaints concerning the operation or condition of a day care facility should be called in to the OEC at 860-500-4412.
